Our staff includes a team of priests and deacons who work collaboratively to keep New Song a loving and lively community of faith.

New Song’s rector is the Rev. Jim Harrison. Following a 30+ year career as a pattern maker for General Motors, Fr. Jim attended Seabury Western Theological Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 2010. He has served Episcopal Churches in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. He and his wife, Missy, are happy to be grandparent nannies to their two local grandchildren. They live and play in Iowa City with their dog, Sidney.

The Rev. Lori Erickson serves as a deacon at New Song. Ordained in 2005, she has been part of the New Song community since 2016. Her ministry centers on healing and on writing about the intersection of spirituality and travel. She is the author of books that include Holy Rover, Near the Exit, The Soul of the Family Tree, and Every Step Is Home. She and her husband, Bob Sessions, have two sons.

We’re fortunate to have retired clergy at New Song as well:
