Black History Festival of Food: Avery Wills has kindly shared the recipes he made for the annual Black History Festival of Food:

Black History Festival of Food Recipes (including Southern Black-Eyed Peas; Southern Style Dirty Rice; Slow-Cooked Collard Greens; Macaroni and Cheese; Frozen Peach Cobbler; Southern Shrimp & Grits; and Vegetarian Louisiana-Style Red Beans)

During February, Avery Wills coordinates a wonderful Black History Festival of Food, held during community hour after church.

Emily Silliman shares her recipe for Spinach Dal, which we enjoyed at a presentation on the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism given by Tsunma Yeshe, a Tibetan nun visiting the Milarepa Buddhist Center in Iowa City: Spinach Dal

New Song was pleased to host Tibetan nun Tsunma Yeshe for a dinner and presentation on Buddhism.

We love babies, even when they’re a bit uncertain they want to be at church on a Sunday morning.
Each December New Song participates in Coralville’s Aisle of Lights holiday display.
