Serving others can bring much joy, and there are so many ways to do it. Indeed, much of the most meaningful service comes in the form of small, simple gestures.
At New Song, opportunities to serve vary widely according to the gifts and talents that members of our community offer.
- Making New Song a joyful home (cleaning, indoor and outdoor maintenance, gardening, other beautification efforts)
- Childcare
- Assisting with Christian formation for children
- Assisting with Christian formation for adults
- Hosting community hour
- Hosting a learning session on any topic (e.g., how we engage in today’s culture as Christians, examining cultural competence and forming our values regarding ethnic, cultural and economic diversity, scripture study, seasonal studies to examine our faith during Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost, learning about other faith communities, prayer shawl knitting and centered prayer as a spiritual practice, spiritual discernment, and many more)
