Lois Barnard joins New Song Church as Office Administrator following an active life as wife, professional, and care giver. Lois was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, and attended college at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, where she majored in Communications and minored in Business. In addition, she earned 12 graduate hours in Organizational and Interpersonal Communications.
In her professional career she had several people-oriented positions while working as an insurance agent, and later in marketing for hospitals and counseling organizations.
On the way, she raised two daughters and now has six grandchildren. She retired and moved to Iowa City two years ago in order to assist a sick friend, then decided to stay in Iowa City because of close friendships made, and excellent services available to retirees in the Iowa City area.
Originally raised in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Lois has been a practicing Episcopalian since 1985. A member of Trinity Iowa City, she is very pleased to be able to work as Administrator for New Song. “It’s a great church, open and friendly. I’m so impressed with the worship structure and dedication of its members.” She hopes to be with New Song for many years!
