December 24 and 25, 2011 are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The collect (pronounced ′kä-lekt) is a prayer that gathers us as a people by helping us to focus on major themes presented in the scripture readings for this coming Sunday:

Where we are in our Episcopal Church Calendar
The second season of the church year, following Advent, is Christmas. Christmas Day is one of the seven principal feasts. The Christmas season lasts twelve days, from Christmas Day until Jan. 5, the day before the Epiphany. This year, the Christmas season includes Christmas Day and the First Sunday after Christmas Day (the Holy Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ).

- Life Support—Life Support is a support group of friends listening to friends for anyone experiencing life-challenging illness, loss, transition, or transformation. Meeting are on Wednesdays from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Tierra coffee house in Coralville. All are welcome!
